Job description

Senior Global Marketing Manager – Cardiac – Abbott Point of Care (APOC)

Abbott Point of Care (APOC) seeks a senior commercial leader to drive the strategic and commercial success of the cardiac portfolio, including high‑priority New Product Introductions (NPIs). This role owns portfolio strategy, NPI road‑map, launch execution, and adoption acceleration, working cross‑functionally to transition new cardiac products from development through sustained utilization internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the global portfolio strategy for cardiac diagnostics, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, and investment priorities.
  • Shape category direction by identifying unmet clinical, workflow, and economic needs across cardiac pathways.
  • Translate Abbott’s growth objectives into clear, executable priorities for regions and downstream teams.
  • Act as the global business authority on the cardiac franchise, guiding decisions with direct revenue impact.
  • Own end‑to‑end NPI commercialization for cardiac products—from development handoff through launch, adoption, and scale.
  • Define and execute global launch strategies that accelerate evaluation, protocol adoption, and utilization.
  • Establish and track adoption KPIs (e.g., time to first use, protocol inclusion, utilization expansion).
  • Identify and remove adoption barriers (clinical confidence, workflow integration, economic justification).
  • Define the global value proposition for the cardiac portfolio, integrating clinical evidence, health economics, and customer decision drivers.
  • Ensure value narratives support solution‑based selling across cardiac pathways (ED, ICU, lab, enterprise).
  • Partner with sales leadership to deliver commercial programs and tools that convert interest into revenue‑generating use.
  • Continuously refine messaging based on field feedback and market performance.
  • Own the global evidence strategy for the cardiac portfolio, aligned to commercialization and differentiation needs.
  • Partner with Clinical and Medical Affairs to prioritize data generation, publications, and conference activity that accelerate adoption.
  • Ensure scientific dissemination supports guideline influence, protocol change, and customer confidence.
  • Leverage evidence to support enterprise buying decisions and long‑term portfolio growth.
  • Lead cross‑functional execution across R&D, Clinical, Sales, CX, Operations, and Regional Marketing.
  • Serve as the portfolio business representative to R&D, shaping development priorities and launch readiness.
  • Cascade strategy into clear roles, milestones, and measurable outcomes across global teams.
  • Own the cardiac innovation roadmap, ensuring alignment with long‑term clinical and business strategy.
  • Anticipate emerging trends in cardiac diagnostics and guide investment and lifecycle decisions.
  • Ensure Abbott continues to expand its leadership position through differentiated, scalable cardiac solutions.
Success Measures (What Winning Looks Like)
  • Cardiac NPIs achieve rapid adoption and protocol inclusion post‑launch
  • Reduced time from launch to meaningful revenue contribution
  • Sustained utilization growth across early‑adopter and expansion accounts
  • Strong pipeline creation and enterprise adoption influenced by marketing programs
  • Clear contribution to global cardiac revenue growth targets
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
  • 8+ years’ experience in healthcare marketing, sales, or a related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated success in portfolio management, NPI launches, and commercialization
  • Track record of shaping markets through evidence, advocacy, or guideline influence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross‑functional teams

Preferred:

  • Diagnostics or medical device industry experience
  • Global marketing or commercial leadership experience
  • People leadership experience
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations
