Job summary

STRATA inc. in the Salt Lake City metro area is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical projects across the inter-mountain west.

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer ensures the Engineering Program executes with high-quality deliverables and complies with STRATA's standards and industry care. This role includes mentoring Staff Engineers and Project Engineers, supporting long-term client relationships, and helping build scope, schedule, and budget to secure project

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related geotechnical experience, including foundation engineering and subsurface explorations.
• B.S. Civil Engineering with Geotechnical emphasis and a Utah P.E. (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
• Experience with geotechnical analyses and production software: gINT, L-pile, Slide.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Review analyses and deliverables for compliance with STRATA standards and industry care.
• Mentor Staff Engineers and Project Engineers to foster learning and cross-training.
• Support long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to expand STRATA's market share.
• Assist Engineering Project Managers with scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful execution.

We are interested in hiring a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the Salt Lake City, Utah metro area.

Our Senior Geotechnical Engineer assures the Engineering Program executes and delivers excellent products.

Reviews technical analyses and deliverables to provide sound recommendations for compliance with Company standards and with industry standards of care.

This role includes mentoring Staff Engineers and Project Engineers to create learning opportunities, cross-training, and diversity of skill sets. (The role does not have direct reports.)

Support long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to expand STRATA's market share.

Support Engineering Project Managers in building scope, schedule, and budget to ensure the support and endorsement of the technical group during execution.

Professional Qualification Requirements:

• Experience reviewing analyses, recommendations, and report deliverables.
• . Experience with a variety of geotechnical analysis and production software (gINT, L-pile, Slide).
• . Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering emphasis.
• Designation as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) (Preferably in Utah or the ability to obtain a P.E. within three (3) months of employment).
• 15+ years of related experience such as foundation engineering and subsurface explorations.
• Effective professional-level verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and independently.
• Technical writing and organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a keen eye for attention to detail.
• Current, valid driver's license is required.
• All employees are subject to completing reference checks and drug/alcohol testing.
