Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer (Starlink)

At SpaceX, we leverage our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to over 5 million users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, including satellites, consumer receivers, and the software that integrates everything. We are seeking top-tier engineers to help maximize Starlink's global impact.

The UXSW team at SpaceX manages the digital experience for Starlink customers, building mobile and web interfaces for setup, outage monitoring, service management, and support. We also develop tools for support staff and an AI-powered chatbot to resolve customer issues proactively. Our engineers are directly responsible for delivering the best internet experience from space.

Responsibilities:

• Develop well-architected, responsive, and high-performance web applications.
• Create reliable and available software systems for Starlink.
• Design and implement fault-tolerant networks that operate with minimal maintenance at scale.
• Write expert-level TypeScript React code for modern browsers.
• Engage in full-stack application development within a .NET micro-service architecture in Kubernetes.
• Implement continuous monitoring and alerting to support data-driven decisions and system observability.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure successful business outcomes.
• Work with other engineering teams to improve architecture, design, and code quality.
• Deeply understand user problems to create effective solutions.
• Participate actively in team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM field, plus 5+ years of full-stack software experience; or 7+ years of professional full-stack experience without a degree.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Programming in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Front-end skills in Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar.
• Knowledge of version control, CI/CD pipelines.
• Performance profiling and optimization expertise.
• Experience with build systems like Make, Bazel, Gradle, and package managers like pip, npm.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience with UNIX-like OS and CI/CD tools.
• Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences and ownership of project outcomes.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $160,000 - $220,000/year, determined by experience and skills. Benefits include stock options, bonuses, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), paid leave, and more. Shuttles available from Seattle to Redmond.
