Job summary

Dexian is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable Java/Spring applications in an AWS cloud environment. You will drive secure API development with RBAC/SAML/OIDC, implement event-driven architectures, and lead code reviews while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate across squads, participate in agile ceremonies, and ensure architectural standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/CE/IS; 8+ years of development experience.
• Expertise with Java, Spring, Spring Boot and event-based architecture.
• Strong API security knowledge including SAML/OIDC and RBAC.
• Solid software design, data structures, and algorithms fundamentals.
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Cloud-native design with 12-factor principles; AWS deployment.
• Containerization with Docker; Kubernetes orchestration; CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Provide scalable backend solutions across web and middle-tier layers.
• Collaborate across squads; participate in pair programming and reviews.
• Design and implement secure APIs with RBAC and SAML/OIDC.

The Expertise You Have

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering, information systems preferred, with at least 8 years of development experience
• Expertise in building scalable web and middle-tier applications using Java, Spring, spring Boot and event-based architecture
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with API authentication, RBAC Authorization and SAML/OIDC
• Strong foundation of software design, data structures and algorithms.
• Strong experience with web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.)
• Experience building cloud enabled applications leveraging 12 factor design
• Experience with Docker containerization and AWS cloud deployment/application management
• Experience with unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform and Jenkins
• Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior engineers and performing code reviews
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and parse business logic into technical requirements, experienced in an agile scrum environment.
• Experience with brokerage and financial services application development is a plus
• Working knowledge of design system is a plus
• Knowledge of web security attack methods and measures to defend against them is a plus
