Job Summary

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining food safety and quality standards across Hood manufacturing facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop laboratory technicians, FSQR supervisors/managers, and SQF associates.
• Foster a culture of quality and collaboration among peers and plant personnel.
• Manage staff responsible for product testing records and quality management system compliance.
• Ensure GMPs and production standards are followed.
• Handle customer complaints and quality issues in collaboration with Sales.
• Intervene to correct or realign products/processes to meet quality standards.
• Lead or collaborate on RCA, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze KPIs and collaborate on solutions with management teams.
• Adjust quality management plans to build quality into processes.
• Serve as liaison for regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party inspections.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
• File regulatory reports related to milk testing and record keeping.
• Support SQF/QMS requirements.
• Travel as needed.

Education and Experience

• B.S. in Biology, Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of quality production management experience.
• At least 5 years managing quality staff.
• Knowledge of plant quality systems, laboratory functions, and manufacturing operations.
• Understanding of FDA, PMO, and other regulatory agencies.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification or ability to attain within 12 months.
• Mature leadership and team-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location, with a range of $115,100 - $130,700 USD.
