Job summary

RTX is seeking a hands-on engineer for lab and field testing to verify complex aerospace and defense systems. You will collect data, generate quick-look reports, and participate in multi-disciplinary fault isolation and corrective actions across subsystems and platform integration.

The role requires travel, extended hours, and the ability to obtain program access as needed. A BS in engineering with relevant radar/ComNav experience is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Five+ years of technical/engineering experience.
  • Experience with Radar, ComNav and Radar-related systems/equipment.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

Perform integration, verification, and testing in the lab or the field to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements. Perform data collection activities, including review and analysis of data elements, and provide quick look reports of results. Be an integral part of multi-disciplinary teams in fault isolation, fault analysis, and corrective action investigations across mechanical and electrical subsystems, system-level performance, and system-of-system integration, including all-up round (AUR) configurations, weapon-to-carriage interfaces, and aircraft platform integration. This is a demanding, hands‑on, lab and direct flight test support position. There are some non‑standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions. Support Flight Line testing outside around operational aircraft. Domestic Travel required, which is typically for a one‑week duration. 10% travel. Obtain and maintain additional program access as required.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math or other related engineering disciplines. A minimum Five (5) of technical/engineering experience. Experience using Radar, ComNav and Radar related systems/equipment. Experience with Windows based PCs, software and peripheral hardware. Experience troubleshooting varied electronic equipment. Experience with Communications Security. Must be able to travel to domestic and possibly foreign sites.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with frequent and direct interaction with Government customers and peers. Engineering leadership experience with a team and/or project. Experience building and maintaining customer relationships. Experience interpreting requirements and translating knowledge points into test plans and procedures. Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 interfaces Experienced in Failure Review, Failure Investigation and Root Cause and Correction Action Boards. Experience with COMSEC. Experience with Telemetry software/hardware.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
