Job Title: Sr. Flight Software Verification Engineer

FLYTE has partnered with a pioneering California-based company at the forefront of developing autopilot, flight control, and software systems. By integrating state-of-the-art autonomous flight and robotics technologies, they are advancing aviation safety with a clear vision of saving lives through innovation. With a certification-driven approach, this company has already demonstrated the fully automated operation of cargo aircraft and is actively working towards FAA and DoD certification for their systems.

To support this mission, they are looking to hire a Senior Flight Software Verification Engineer to automate complex aircraft systems. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of the development and certification of their autonomy stack, playing a crucial role in bringing their aircraft to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify bare-metal embedded software interfacing with sensors and control systems, ensuring robust fault tolerance and seamless integration with other vehicle subsystems.
• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive verification strategy, creating a compliant and effective environment for software verification.
• Design and implement tests to demonstrate the correct and safe behaviour of systems.
• Support flight hardware both in the lab and in the field, plan flight tests, and watch your software control real aircraft in real-world conditions.

We are looking for a highly skilled engineer with a strong background in safety-critical software development and certification, who possesses the following qualifications:

• 7+ years of professional experience in C or C++
• Proven experience in safety-critical software verification, achieving DO-178C objectives
• Expertise in requirements-based testing in unit test and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) environments
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking
• Extensive experience developing software for safety-critical applications
