This role will support the Company’s global accounting for fixed assets and capital projects, ensuring accurate and timely accounting and reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies.

The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for key accounting activities throughout the fixed asset lifecycle—from initial capital expenditure and construction‑in‑progress through capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment, and disposal. The role will also support purchase accounting and integration activities related to acquired fixed assets.

This position will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Technical Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Tax, and regional Finance teams. The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of complex accounting processes in a global organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform accounting and reporting activities for fixed assets and capital projects in accordance with U.S. GAAP, Company policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting throughout the asset lifecycle, including additions, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, retirements, and impairment considerations.
  • Analyze construction‑in‑progress (CIP) and other capital project balances and work with project owners and Finance teams to ensure projects are reviewed regularly and placed into service on a timely basis.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to fixed assets, including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset rollforwards, depreciation analyses, and financial reporting schedules.
  • Analyze capital expenditures and project activity to ensure appropriate classification between capital and operating expenditures.
  • Monitor the aging and status of capital projects and identify abandoned, delayed, or potentially impaired assets for review with management.
  • Support FP&A and business Finance teams with capital expenditure and depreciation forecasting and related variance analysis.
  • Support acquisition and purchase accounting activities related to fixed assets, including establishing acquired assets in the fixed asset subledger, supporting valuation activities, determining appropriate useful lives and depreciation methods, and reconciling acquired asset balances to purchase accounting records.
  • Assist with the integration of acquired fixed assets and capital projects into the Company’s accounting systems, policies, and control environment.
  • Partner with project managers and business stakeholders regarding capitalization policies, project accounting requirements, and fixed asset accounting matters.
  • Execute and support internal controls over fixed assets and capital projects in accordance with SOX requirements.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation and respond to internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets, capital expenditures, depreciation, impairment, and acquisition accounting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate fixed asset accounting processes and reporting.
  • Participate in broader Corporate Accounting initiatives, including acquisitions, integrations, system implementations, and other special projects.
