Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers and Meyer Utility Structures are seeking a skilled welder to lay out, cut, and weld complex subassemblies and final products in Tulsa, OK. The role involves reading blueprints, using manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring weld quality and safety.

The position requires at least 1 year of welding experience with the ability to pass a 2G FCAW test on 1” plate. Flux Core experience is highly desired; familiarity with utility structures is a plus.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required.
• 2G Flux Core (FCAW) test ability required.
• FCAW welding experience highly desired.
• Experience with utility structures or similar products is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies or final product.
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds.
• Apply welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal.
• Use manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment according to layouts and work orders.
• Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Observe all standard safety practices.

What You’ll Do

• Lay out and cut complex subassemblies or final product
• Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds
• Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal
• Or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
• Observe all standard safety practices

What You’ll Need

• Minimum of 1 year of applicable welding experience
• Ability to successfully pass a 2G Flux Core (FCAW) weld test on 1” plate (bend test)
• Flux Core experience is highly desired
• Experience welding or fitting utility structures or similar products is highly desired, but not required
• Ability to adhere to all safety rules and practices
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
