LITEON is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop embedded firmware for high-power modules, collaborating with hardware and validation teams.

Candidates should have a BS in EE/CE or related field and 3–5+ years of firmware experience in power electronics, with strong C/C++ skills and debugging proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for power module and high-power products, including control, monitoring, protection, and communication functions.
  • Collaborate with hardware and system engineers to integrate firmware with power electronics, control circuits, and communication interfaces.
  • Perform firmware bring-up, debugging, and validation on prototype and production hardware.
  • Support firmware implementation related to power control algorithms, system state management, fault handling, and diagnostics.
  • Assist in tuning and optimizing firmware performance for reliability, efficiency, and stability of power modules.
  • Develop and execute firmware test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation.
  • Support compliance, reliability, and customer qualification testing activities.
  • Create and maintain firmware design documentation, test reports, and release notes.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and field teams to support product development and issue resolution.

OVERVIEW: LITEON designs and manufactures power supplies, keyboards, ODD, racks, enclosures, and liquid cooling for a variety of customers in the server, storage, networking, and consumer space. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Firmware Engineer is a key contributor in the development of embedded firmware for high-power products and power modules. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware that enables reliable operation, monitoring, and control of power electronics systems. The Firmware Engineer works closely with hardware, system, and validation teams to ensure robust firmware solutions aligned with product requirements and customer needs.

Firmware Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for power module and high-power products, including control, monitoring, protection, and communication functions.
  • Collaborate with hardware and system engineers to integrate firmware with power electronics, control circuits, and communication interfaces.
  • Perform firmware bring-up, debugging, and validation on prototype and production hardware.
Control & Power Application Support:
  • Support firmware implementation related to power control algorithms, system state management, fault handling, and diagnostics.
  • Assist in tuning and optimizing firmware performance for reliability, efficiency, and stability of power modules.
Testing & Validation:
  • Develop and execute firmware test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation.
  • Support compliance, reliability, and customer qualification testing activities.
Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Create and maintain firmware design documentation, test reports, and release notes.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and field teams to support product development and issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in power electronics or power module products.
  • Proficiency in C / C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, DSPs, or embedded processors used in power applications.
  • Familiarity with power electronics systems, control concepts, and hardware-firmware interaction.
  • Experience with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzer, oscilloscope).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional development environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
