Compensation Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $89,400.00 - $134,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Sr. FinOps Analyst will work across Cox Automotive to direct and perform financial analysis and reporting activities, focusing on Cloud platform providers and SaaS software. Creates accounting charge backs for an expanding roster of strategic technology vendors. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for optimizing spend. Develops, implements and monitors financial metrics, focusing on Cloud consumption. Consults with product development teams and executive leadership to share cost trends, cost drivers, and optimization opportunities.

Candidates may reside in Atlanta, Georgia or Burlington, Vermont Internal Cox employees may reside in any corporate office location. All must follow In-office hybrid schedule.

Who You Are

An experienced Technology professional with an understanding of Cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and AI platform (Anthropic, Microsoft Copilot, AWS Quick, AWS Bedrock) cost management.

What You’ll Do
  • Create monthly accounting chargeback and showbacks for strategic technology spend to allocate costs to different business units or projects
  • Identify and alert on cloud and AI cost anomalies in a timely fashion
  • Think independently to solve difficult data problems
  • Collate, analyze, and prioritize technology optimization recommendations and calculate potential savings
  • Monitor ongoing cloud and AI expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities, such as unused or underutilized resources
  • Over time, develop expertise to provide expert knowledge of cloud and AI cost optimization strategies (e.g. rightsizing, reservations, scheduling and scaling, model use, caching, etc.)
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to implement cost optimization recommendations and best practices
  • Utilize data to tell compelling stories by visualizing technology usage, driving technology cost optimization practices within product engineering teams
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulations related to FinOps and technology cost optimization
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide visibility into technology spending and cost trends.
  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis to identify cost drivers and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct analysis of multiple complex cost proposals
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of demonstrated technology experience. A candidate may also have a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or a Ph.D with 1+ year of experience.

Ideal candidate will have a mix of 4+ years' experience in cloud operations and finops related roles

  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and with a degree of technical depth or strong interest in adding technical depth
  • Interested in developing deep knowledge of how purchased technology services are used to meet business needs
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel (particularly the use of PivotTables, graphing, and relevant formulas).
  • Exhibit sound business judgement, an ability to influence others, analytical skills, and a track record of taking ownership and influencing results
  • Experience driving high-impact projects spanning multiple teams and numerous stakeholders

Must live near listed office location and follow weekly in office hybrid schedule

The ideal candidate will have experience in IT financial management or FinOps

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Detailed understanding of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform product lines or other Cloud offerings
  • Detailed understanding of AI product lines (Anthropic, Microsoft Copilot, AWS Quick, AWS Bedrock)
  • Experience with Cloud and AI Cost optimization
  • Experience working in cost chargeback processes
