Do you want to shape the future of entertainment while driving financial strategy for one of Amazon's most creative businesses? Amazon Studios seeks a Financial Analyst II to serve as a strategic finance business partner supporting our Studios operations. In this role, you'll go beyond traditional analysis to become a trusted advisor to business leaders, combining rigorous financial expertise with strategic thinking to drive decision-making and optimize budgets.

You'll be at the intersection of finance and creativity, supporting operational planning, monthly close processes, and quarterly guidance while developing a deep understanding of the Studios business. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple departments within Studios, gaining exposure to the diverse functions that bring entertainment to millions of customers worldwide while adding a strategic layer to financial decision-making.

Key job responsibilities
  • Partner with business leaders across Studios departments to understand their operational needs, solve complex financial challenges, and deliver insights that inform strategic investment decisions and resource allocation
  • Evaluate spending portfolios to identify initiatives with the greatest ROI potential, guiding stakeholders toward budget optimization strategies that fund high-impact projects while reducing low-return expenditures
  • Build and maintain financial reports, models, and dashboards that convert data into actionable insights for senior leadership, enabling data-driven prioritization of resources
  • Proactively audit financial data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, elevate issues, and implement process improvements to enhance controllership and scale efficiency
  • Execute month-end close processes, operational planning cycles, and quarterly guidance while ensuring accuracy and meeting critical deadlines
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances, identify root causes, and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders on how to reallocate spending toward higher-value initiatives and fund new projects from savings
A day in the life

Your day begins by analyzing budget-to-actuals performance, identifying variances, and preparing insights for stakeholder discussions. You'll spend time meeting with business partners across different Studios departments to solve funding challenges - determining how to reallocate savings to support new projects while ensuring compliance with financial controls. Throughout the day, you'll leverage financial tools and AI automation to streamline repetitive processes, allowing you to focus on strategic analysis. You'll also dedicate time to ensuring critical monthly and quarterly deadlines are met, collaborating with your team to maintain accuracy and deliver results.

About the team

Join a dynamic finance team that supports the Studios business by managing fixed operating expenses, including technology investments and operational costs. This team serves as a strategic partner to Studios leadership, providing the financial insights that enable innovation at scale. Your role will specifically focus on non-headcount expenses, giving you the opportunity to develop deep expertise in this critical area.

The team values collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. You'll work alongside finance professionals who are passionate about understanding the entertainment business while maintaining financial discipline. As you grow in this role, you'll gain exposure to various Studios departments, building relationships across the organization and contributing to an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives drive better business outcomes.
