Base pay range

The Senior Financial Analyst has direct accountability for critical financial activities for Revenue and Margin reporting. In this role, you will leverage your strong technical skills to promote data-driven decision making. You will be proficient in utilizing the company’s financial planning system, adept at working with various data sources, and perform additional project-based analyses as required. This role focuses on analyzing historical data trends to guide sales and margin forecasts for the company. *Retail or CPG experience is preferred. Must be able to work Pacific hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and margin aspects of the annual strategic plan, annual operating plan, and monthly forecast processes.
  • Oversee and understand all components of sales and margin including different revenue streams and non-product related sales programs.
  • Partner cross functionally to develop accurate revenue forecasts based on trends, market conditions, and promotional changes.
  • Develop financial models to forecast revenue and margin performance, considering macroeconomic events, seasonality, underlying company growth, and cost fluctuations.
  • Prepare reporting and ad-hoc analyses highlighting trends, variances, and KPI’s to executive management.
  • Perform various analyses comparing actual revenue against forecast and budget, identifying, and explaining variances and providing key insights to drivers (volume, pricing, seasonality).
  • Work closely with Marketing and Merchandising teams to align on promotional campaigns and assess potential impact from promotional changes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive financial perspective of assigned functional areas of the company.
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial strategies for assigned departments.
  • Work with other team members and cross-functionally to build data-driven solutions from large data sets that support greater business insight, enhanced analytics, and/or greater efficiencies.
  • Design and lead complex ad hoc analyses to support key decisions.
  • Drive efforts to improve processes and profitability by developing insightful analytics and reports.

Requirements:

Education Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science).
  • MBA is preferred.

Years of Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in financial management or analytics/data analysis.
  • Considerable experience with Microsoft Office and other financial software / systems.
  • Experience with SQL, scripting is a plus.
  • Experience using visualization techniques for presenting large data sets in an easily digestible fashion to various stakeholders within the organization (Tableau experience a plus).

Physical Requirements

General office environment requiring ability to:

  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $98,500– $147,800 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
