Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, to lead monthly and annual planning for Middle Mile Transportation and HQMF operations. You’ll drive long-range planning, forecast accuracy, and strategic financial insights.

You’ll develop financial models, scenarios, and business cases, partner with cross-functional teams, and translate data into actionable recommendations that shape transportation investments and resource allocation at Target.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in financial planning & analytics or planning.
• Strong analytical experience with income statement, cash flow and balance sheet understanding.
• Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting.
• Curiosity to leverage datasets to identify insights and tell business stories.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and materials.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills across teams.
• Strong organizational, planning and project management skills with attention to detail.

Job description

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

As a Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, You Will Lead The Monthly And Annual Financial Planning Processes For Target’s Middle Mile Transportation And Headquarters Managed Field (HQMF) Businesses, Including Long-Range Planning, Goal, Forecast, And Actuals. You Will Also Provide Strategic Financial Insights And Decision Support To Transportation Leadership By

• Evaluating the financial and operational impacts of Middle Mile and HQMF strategies, identifying opportunities to optimize cost, service, and network performance.
• Developing financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support complex, capital-intensive Transportation investments and strategic initiatives.
• Partnering cross-functionally across other enterprise teams to evaluate financial trade-offs and influence strategic business decisions.
• Translating operational and financial performance into actionable insights, connecting near-term results with longer-term risks, opportunities, and business priorities.

This role will partner with a broad set of stakeholders across Target and requires strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and the ability to navigate a dynamic and highly cross-functional business. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to synthesize complex information, develop compelling financial recommendations, influence decisions through strong partnerships, and balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution of core FP&A responsibilities.

About You

• 3-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, business analytics, or planning
• Strong analytical experience with a foundational understanding of financial statements (income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet)
• Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting
• Curiosity and desire to leverage datasets to identify insights and tell compelling business narratives
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations and presentation materials
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills with attention to detail

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location (Tues, Wed, & Thurs) the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
