Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a financial analytics professional to lead system-wide growth analyses and pro forma planning. The role supports multiple entities including Summa Health System and affiliates, delivering profitability models and performance projections to management.

The ideal candidate has a finance/Accounting background with healthcare experience, strong modeling and presentation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Operations Management.
• MBA preferred.
• Four (4) years related professional and business experience in a technical/financial healthcare analysis or consulting position.
• Knowledge of acute case and integrated delivery systems.
• Expertise in current modeling, spreadsheet and presentation techniques and applications.
• Superior analytical skills and abilities; requisite project management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with medical, operational and financial departments.
• Public speaking and presentation skills; ability to communicate and present financial and operational analysis concepts to management and staff.
• Ability to work independently within management guidelines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality based on access to proprietary financial, operational and competitive information.
• Assume personal accountability for the preparation and completion of projects and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial analyses and analytics to support System-wide growth and realignment initiatives.
• Prepare financial analyses and pro forma plans for Summa Health System and affiliates.
• Coordinate with SHN/SIC/SummaCare; oversee profitability models and projections.
• Prepare and present financial performance measurements and projections to management.
• Conduct departmental analysis, profitability and performance projections, and revenue/cost assessments for opportunities.
• Provide decision support including ROI, NPV & IRR analyses; staffing and budgeting reviews.
• Coordinate and oversee special project requests.

Job description

Assumes lead responsibilities in developing financial analyses and analytics to assess and support System-wide growth and re-alignment initiatives including Service Lines, Institutes, Business Development Council and Performance Innovation. Prepares financial analysis and pro forma plans as requests for: Summa Health System, Summa Health System-owned Hospitals, System Ventures, and affiliates. Coordinates with SHN/SIC/SummaCare; Oversees, develops and updates profitability and performance models and projections. Prepares and presents financial performance measurements and projections to all levels of management. Responsibilities include departmental analysis, profitability and performance projections, and revenue and cost assessment for existing and proposed business opportunities. Provides decision support to operating and senior management, including: cost/benefit analysis (ROI, NPV & IRR); operational, organizational, and staffing analysis; and budget and forecast reviews. Coordinates and oversees special project requests.

1. Formal Education Required:

• a. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Operations Management
• b. Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred

2. Experience & Training Required:

• a. Four (4) years related professional and business experience in a technical/financial healthcare analysis or consulting position
