Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting.
• Five or more years in manufacturing accounting with ERP experience.
• Some cost accounting background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage standard cost input, cost roll changes and valuation updates.
• Prepare standard journal entries for monthly close.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with inventory to account for materials and inventory value.

• Provide accounting guidance for transactions using QAD and other systems.
• Assist in monthly forecasts and annual budget.
• Support special projects, cost studies and profit improvement analyses.
• Support audits with data requests.

• Perform other accounting functions as directed.

We are seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst with American Axle in North Vernon, IN.

Position is offering $30.30 per hour.

Schedule is Mon-Fri | 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Assignment is expected to be 3 months to cover maternity leave; extension may be possible depending on business needs. Position is 100% onsite.

JOB DESCRIPTION/OVERVIEW The Sr. Analyst Finance assists the Finance Manager in all areas of plant accounting. Interacts with plant and corporate personnel to analyze and present data required to make sound business decisions. Backs up Finance Manager when Finance Manager is unavailable.

REPORTS TO Directly to the Finance Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Helps to coordinate, administer and maintain financial controls. This encompasses both company internal financial controls and SOX controls.
• 2. Assists Finance Manager managing and maintaining standard cost input process for material, labor and overhead and cost roll changes updated in production.
• 3. Prepare standard and miscellaneous journal entries for monthly accounting close.
• 4. Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• 5. Work with inventory manager to ensure accurate accounting for materials transactions and valuing of inventory.
• 6. Coordinate with the materials department during physical inventories and prepare reconciliation of the perpetual inventory to the general ledger.
• 7. Collaborate with other teams to provide accounting and reporting guidance on all financial transactions. Prepare data and analysis using QAD system and other systems for internal and external reporting
• 8. Assist in preparing monthly forecasts and annual budget.
• 9. Assist Finance Manager conducting special projects, cost studies analysis and new business evaluations. Provides statistics, reports and recommendations resulting in cost reductions and profit improvements.
• 10. Support data requests during internal and external audits.
• 11. Track capital project spending and capitalization.
• 12. Performs other miscellaneous accounting functions as directed by the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting
• Five plus years accounting experience in a manufacturing accounting role and ERP experience
• Some cost accounting background is preferred
