Job summary

Gelson's Markets in Southern California is hiring a Finance Analyst to create actionable analysis that improves the company’s financial performance across all functions. You will define problems, collect data, evaluate processes, and propose recommendations.

Responsibilities include complex financial and operational reporting, profitability programs, budgeting, ROI analyses, and project scoping. Strong Excel and BI skills and retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or related field.
• MBA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years corporate financial experience.
• Retail or supermarket experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with BI tools.

• In charge of complex financial and operational reporting and analysis
• Develop and implement programs to drive profitability and improvements in labor, margin and promotions optimization, and cost reductions.
• Develop corporate budgets and forecasts collaborating with the department management and other business leaders.
• Collect data and review and analyze information; recommend solutions to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
• Manage all capital reporting and planning and preparation of various ROI analyses.
• Assess proposed projects and ensure that all needs are met within the project scope.
• Other related duties and assignments as required.

Job Summary

• In charge of complex financial and operational reporting and analysis
• Develop and implement programs to drive profitability and operational improvements in areas such as labor management, margin and promotions optimization, and cost reductions.
• Develop corporate budgets and forecasts collaborating with the department management and other business leaders.
• Collect data and review and analyze information; recommend solutions to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
• Manage all capital reporting and planning and preparation of various ROI analyses.
• Assess proposed projects and ensure that all needs are met within the project scope.
• Other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management or related field.
• MBA strongly preferred.
• Two (2) years of corporate financial experience.
• Experience in the retail and/or supermarket field preferred.
• Highly proficient computer skills, most critical being MS Excel and Business Intelligence tools.
• Knowledgeable in the use of quantitative techniques to analyze financial and operational data.
• Highly effective organizational and time management skills.
