Job summary

Winland Foods, Inc. seeks a Senior Plant Accountant to support the month-end close process and ensure the accuracy of financial data across plant operations. You will collaborate with Plant Finance and Controllership teams to maintain internal controls and deliver timely, reliable financial statements.

The role requires a minimum of five years in accounting, preferably in manufacturing, with CPA preferred. Strong Excel and ERP system skills, including SAP, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience required; Manufacturing experience preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of accomplishing objectives and solving problems.
• Must be a highly motivated, results driven, and self-starting individual who can apply theory to practice.
• Process improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive a timely close process, ensure accurate financials and strong internal controls.
• Lead tasks related to profitability, budgeting, audit and capital projects.
• Prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and reports.
• Assist team members with complex tasks and month end issues.
• Support monthly financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews.

The Senior Plant Accountant is an accounting position that supports the month end accounting process at Winland Foods. This role will assist the Plant Finance and Controllership teams with maintaining the day to day integrity of financial data and ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the month end close process and the financial statements. This position will provide analytical support to business units through maintaining and integrating accounting systems, audits, and month end reporting. They will also assist with other areas such as Financial Shared Services, Engineering, and Operations Reporting.
