What you'll be doing

The Financial Planning & Analysis team provides the insights, reporting, and planning support that help guide business decisions across the organization. As a Financial Analyst, you'll support month-end close activities, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, reporting, and strategic initiatives for assigned business units. You'll work closely with Senior Analysts to coordinate planning cycles, maintain reporting and allocation processes, and prepare accurate financial information for leadership review. You'll also help create standardized templates, reports, and dashboards that make it easier to identify trends, explain variances, and support decision‑making. This is a collaborative role where strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while gaining visibility across the broader organization. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed
  • Financial planning and forecasting - Support Senior Analysts in coordinating monthly and quarterly forecasts, as well as the annual planning process for assigned business units.
  • Reporting and insights - Develop and prepare standard reporting, dashboards, and financial presentations that help leaders identify trends, understand variances, and make informed decisions.
  • Month‑end and financial accuracy - Prepare journal entries, support month‑end close activities, and help ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements.
  • Allocation and infrastructure support - Maintain management reporting infrastructure cost allocations, complete annual updates, and process monthly allocations accurately and on time.
  • Business partnership - Collaborate with partners across the team to support business case development and contribute to strategic projects that are integral to the planning process.
  • Risk and accountability - Manage your work in alignment with CIBC's risk culture by following applicable policies, controls, and required training, and escalating concerns through the appropriate channels when needed.
Who you are

You give meaning to data. You enjoy working with financial information, investigating variances, and turning analysis into clear, meaningful insights for business partners and leaders. You know that details matter. You bring strong attention to detail and critical thinking to your work, while also keeping the broader business context in mind. You're motivated by collective success. You work well with others, build strong partnerships across teams, and understand the importance of collaboration in meeting shared deadlines and goals. You can demonstrate experience in advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. It's an asset if you have experience with Essbase. You have a degree/diploma in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. You have relevant experience. You bring 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning and analysis, reporting, or a related finance function. Values matter to you.
