Job summary

AMBA, a national provider of essential coverage, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support FP&A, KPI modeling, and business decisions across Client Management and Marketing teams. You will build Excel models, analyze trends, and partner with leaders to drive sales, retention, and cost savings.

The role requires at least 4 years of finance experience, strong Excel and Power BI skills, and familiarity with GAAP. Hybrid work in Austin, TX with Fridays remote is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or Statistics; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant financial planning, reporting, and analysis experience.
• Insurance business knowledge preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; Power BI, VBA or Power Query a plus.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication.
• GAAP knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work in the Austin, TX office with Fridays remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial and business acumen to be a thought partner to business and department leaders.
• Review trends, KPIs, and develop recommendations for operational optimization and cost savings.
• Prepare monthly reports including KPIs, rolling forecasts, and financial variance reports and explanations for review by senior management.
• Prepare executive-level quality and detailed statistical analysis and reporting.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and validity of the information being reported.
• Partner with accounting to align forecast/budget with actuals.
• Maintain Excel models used for performance and variance analysis.
• Support ongoing initiatives to automate, improve and streamline the analysis and reporting process.
• Work on routine assigned finance responsibilities with minimal supervision and ad-hoc projects with proactiveness.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

This role will be responsible providing critical finance/FP&A support (inclusive of financial and KPI modeling, financial oversight with relevant driver explanation) and guidance to internal customers such as the Client Management and Marketing teams on strategic business decisions that drive customer sales, retention, and cost savings.
