Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Field Technician to inspect, test, and maintain high, medium, and low electrical power equipment across diverse facilities. The role demands leadership on job sites, safety-first mindsets, and strong troubleshooting skills.

You will work with SF6, vacuum breakers, transformers, grounding, and instrument transformers while implementing safety policies and reporting findings for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel out of town.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job site, identify, eliminate, or mitigate hazards.
• Perform High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment as a crew leader.
• Utilize Human Performance Error Elimination concepts and tools.
• Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum functioning.
• Prepare and maintain reports detailing tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
• Lead in Safety Culture and mentor team members.
• Install, test and maintain electrical apparatus.
• Analyze testing results and understand underlying theory.
• Develop and write reports and testing plans.
• Manage large scale and complex projects.
• Train and qualify Field Technician I-III.
• Interact with customers.

Pay: The hourly rate for this position is between $50-72 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Field Technician will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated. Technicians will implement safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
• Leader in Safety Culture and responsible for other team members.
• Ability to install, test and maintain electrical apparatus.
• Understand the theory behind and reason for testing with the ability to analyze results.
• Develop and write reports.
• Create plans for testing apparatus.
• Project management of large scale and complex projects.
• Ability to train and qualify Field Technician I, II and III.
• Interact with customers.
• Ability to perform complex troubleshooting

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to this being a safety sensitive position.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology, or Military experience preferred
• 10+ Years Relevant Industry Experience
• NETA III Certified, NETA IV Certified a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
