Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Field Inspector to join our New York City team.

The role involves inspecting ongoing construction, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with plans and safety requirements. The candidate will coordinate with multiple stakeholders and support project milestones with timely communication. The position requires a Civil Engineering degree (preferred), 10+ years of construction supervision/inspection experience, and ability to obtain necessary background clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in construction supervision/inspection.
• Rail, tunnel, structural, station, or substations experience preferred.
• Advanced certifications (NICET, ACI, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to pass TWIC and/or SWAC background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect existing conditions, work in progress, and completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection documents, time and material records, and unit price work.
• Review plans and specs to ensure compliance with work performed.
• Observe safety regulations on site.
• Communicate progress with multiple stakeholders.
• Attend to project priorities and follow through to completion.

Job description

STV is seeking Sr. Field Inspector to join the firm based in our New York City, NY offices.

These positions will report to Field offices

*****This position must have the flexibility to work shifts as needed including swing, night, or weekends*****

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
• Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.
• Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.
• Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
• Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.
• Other related duties and tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in a related field preferred
• 10 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection
• Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station preferred
• Prior experience with substations preferred
• Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.)
• Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Compensation Range:

$133,635.31 - $152,726.06
