Job summary

Progressive is seeking an experienced engineer for PV, BESS, data center, substation, and transmission line design and construction support. The role requires ongoing onsite presence during construction and collaboration with EPCs to ensure successful project delivery.

Candidates should have 5+ years in relevant design fields, an ABET-accredited degree, and strong communication skills to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in PV/BESS, data center, substation, or transmission line design and construction support.
• ABET-accredited degree; Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Strong engineering, design, and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Familiarity with market players, specs, and typical costs in relevant sectors.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and construction support for PV/BESS projects.
• Coordinate with EPCs through final design and oversight during onsite work.
• Offer expert RFI responses and field oversight during construction.
• Analyze design tradeoffs for PV, BESS, data center, and transmission systems.

Job description

• Minimum five (5) years of experience with PV, BESS, data center, substation and/or transmission line design and construction support.
• BSME, BSCE, or BSEE or other technical degree from ABET accredited MS and/or PE license are preferred.
• Demonstrate strong engineering, design, and communication skills, and ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think outside the box and solve traditional problems in new
• In-depth knowledge of (PV), BESS, data center, substation and transmission line design and optimization tradeoffs, and familiarity with the current market, contractors/consultants, equipment suppliers, typical technical specifications, and costs.
• Experience with production modelling including post-processing
• Experience creating, maintaining, and updating proprietary site engineering
• Experience working with EPC's through final design of PV/BESS/HV/Data Center systems.
• Expert onsite construction RFI support and engineering oversight.
• Demonstrated technical problem solving, with exposure to how civil and geotechnical aspects of a site may impact PV design.
• Expertise in AutoCAD, MS Office, task/schedule management software

The position requires daily onsite presence for the construction period.
