Job summary

Traylor Bros., Inc. is seeking a Sr. Field Engineer to plan, design, and supervise heavy civil construction projects. You will analyze surveys, prepare cost/revenue estimates, and lead field teams to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of heavy civil construction experience, with a preference for bridge and marine projects. Travel and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy civil construction.
• Bridge construction experience strongly preferred.
• Marine construction experience preferred.

Position Summary

Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and supervises construction projects by planning, organizing and controlling day-to-day tasks; completes quality inspections; supervises sub-contractors and field engineers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
• Provides critical information about the current status of a project andaccurately estimate how it will finish from a cost and revenue perspective from where it started
• Works closely with Walkers/Superintendents regarding project planning, field leadership, work plan development, submissions, and approvals
• Conducts recurring teammeetings to stay aligned with expectations and goals of a project
• Manages complex material suppliesand drafts scopes of work for subcontractors
• Develop work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to safely execute the work
• Understands and promotes innovation for cost and schedule improvements
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.
• Ability to relocate as needed

Required Experience

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil engineering, or engineering-related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
• Experience with Bridge Construction strongly preferred
• Marine construction experience is preferred
