Job summary
Molex is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer in Rochester Hills, MI. You will operate at the intersection of automotive OEMs, semiconductor partners, and industry leaders to identify opportunities and influence next-generation vehicle architectures.
You will leverage technical expertise to shape Molex strategy, create growth opportunities, and position Molex solutions early in platform development cycles. Travel up to 25% is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in automotive networking, connectivity, semiconductors, or related technologies.
- Experience in business development, product strategy, product management, systems architecture, or technical marketing.
- Knowledge of Automotive Ethernet or vehicle networking technologies.
- Experience influencing technical and commercial stakeholders across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Build strategic relationships with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and semiconductor companies.
- Identify new business opportunities aligned to Automotive Ethernet, high-speed connectivity, and software-defined vehicle trends.
- Influence early-stage platform and reference design decisions that create long-term growth opportunities for Molex.
- Monitor market, technology, and competitive trends and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
- Partner with product management, engineering, and commercial teams to define future product direction.
- Support development and execution of long-term technology and market roadmaps.
- Represent Molex in customer engagements, industry conferences, and standards organizations.

- Knowledge of Automotive Ethernet or vehicle networking technologies
- Experience influencing technical and commercial stakeholders across multiple
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a technical discipline
- Experience engaging automotive OEM architecture teams or semiconductor ecosystem partners
- Experience participating in standards bodies such as IEEE or OPEN Alliance
- Experience developing technology roadmaps or product strategies
- Demonstrated thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, patents, or industry participation
