Job summary

Hyper Photonix Ltd. seeks a hands-on Field Application Engineer to support testing, qualification, and customer integration of high-speed optical transceivers for AI infrastructure and hyperscale data centers.

You will manage the test lab, troubleshoot transceivers and firmware, and serve as the primary technical interface with customers, collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and drive product success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in optical transceivers, high-speed networking, hardware validation, or application engineering.
• Hands-on experience with optical testing, BER, PAM4, firmware diagnostics, and high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Optical Testing: Perform testing, characterization, and troubleshooting of 400G, 800G, and 1.6T optical transceivers using BERTs, oscilloscopes, and optical test equipment.
• Firmware & Diagnostics: Troubleshoot module firmware, CMIS, diagnostics, and host-system compatibility issues.
• Networking Applications: Understand Ethernet, InfiniBand, AI cluster networking, switches, NICs, and high-speed optical links.
• Lab Management: Set up and maintain laboratory equipment, test procedures, documentation, and test automation.
• Customer Support: Work directly with customer engineering teams on product evaluation, interoperability, qualification, and technical problem resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with HPX's engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve products.

Position Summary

• 5+ years of experience in optical transceivers, high-speed networking, hardware validation, or application engineering.
• Hands-on experience with optical testing, BER, PAM4, firmware diagnostics, and high-speed interfaces.
• Understanding of Ethernet and data center networking; InfiniBand experience is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to independently manage a laboratory and work across engineering teams.

Preferred: Experience with AI data centers, 800G/1.6T transceivers, Python test automation, and Mandarin Chinese.

Establish a capable test lab, accelerate customer qualification, resolve technical issues efficiently, and help HPX win design-ins and expand its optical transceiver business.
