Job summary

GGP Services Inc. is seeking a Sr Facilities Technician to support operations at our Texas property. You will assist in implementing safety plans, operating standards, and preventive maintenance to protect the facility’s physical assets.

Main duties include repairing building systems, managing minor repairs, and coordinating with contractors while ensuring a safe environment for tenants and staff. This role requires a proactive, self-driven professional with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must communicate clearly with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and drawings and follow instructions.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • A 2-year tech school graduate or trade certificate is a plus.
  • OSHA 10-Hour course is a plus.
  • Bilingual is welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems.
  • Operate equipment for preventative maintenance and keep areas clean.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on interior/exterior areas (painting, drywall, parking lots, plumbing, lighting, roofing).
  • Maintain inventory systems, records, files, MSDS, supplies and tools.
  • Repair or modify retail merchandising units as needed.
  • Assist with event setup and mall decor installation/removal.
  • Perform custodial duties as needed and assist with snow removal.
  • Support Safety, Health, and Environment policies and training.
  • Coordinate with management and outside contractors.
  • Assist with budgeting input and team training.

Job Description Position Summary

The Sr Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty with the implementation of safety plans, operating standards and guidelines, troubleshooting, repairs, and performing preventative maintenance required to maintain the physical assets of the property.

Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems
  • Operate a variety of equipment to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs and maintain cleanliness of property
  • Perform a variety of maintenance/minor repair activities on the interior/exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, clears drain stoppages, lighting, flooring, and roof
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools
  • Repair, modify, move retail merchandising units as needed
  • Assist in the setup of events and install/take-down mall decor
  • Perform interior/exterior custodial duties as needed which may include sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, gathering trash, empty trash receptacles; operate compactor; and landscaping
  • Assist with snow removal by vehicle and/or by hand (if applicable)
  • Embody and support Brookfield Properties’ Safety, Health, and Environment Policy
  • Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (including OSHA standards) to promote a safe working environment
  • Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely
  • Assist with emergency planning and response in coordination with management team
  • Some shift work, evenings, weekends, and emergency response is required
  • Provide assistance and interact with the public and tenants as needed
  • Coordinates work assignments with outside contractors
  • Assists with training team members
  • Assists the management team with preparing and inputting budget information
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
