Position Summary
The Facilities Technician will assist the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty with the implementation of safety plans, operating standards, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance required to maintain the physical assets of the property.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems.
- Operate equipment to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and property cleanliness.
- Perform maintenance and minor repair activities on interior and exterior areas, including painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing, drainage, lighting, flooring, and roofing.
- Maintain inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Repair, modify, or move retail merchandising units as needed.
- Assist in event setup and installation or removal of mall décor.
- Execute interior and exterior custodial duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, trash collection, compactor operation, and landscaping.
- Assist with snow removal by vehicle or hand (if applicable).
- Support GGP’s Safety, Health, and Environment Policy; comply with OSHA standards and all applicable regulations.
- Engage in training and continuing education to develop safe work practices.
- Assist with emergency planning and response in coordination with the management team.
- Work shift assignments, evenings, weekends, and emergency response periods as required.
- Provide assistance and interact with the public and tenants as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Strong communication skills with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, plans, schematic drawings, and instructions.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently.
- 2‑year technical school graduate or trade certificate is a plus.
- OSHA General Industry 10‑Hour course is a plus.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn Microsoft Outlook.
- Bilingual language skills welcomed.

Physical Demands
Employees regularly sit, use hands, talk, or hear. They frequently stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crouch, or crawl. They may lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Employees must possess good vision, including depth perception and color vision. The work environment is moderate in noise. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, precarious heights, fumes, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
