Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a Facilities Senior Manager for a premier Life Sciences R&D campus in Cambridge, MA. You will manage building operations and maintenance, focusing on HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems, while leading a team of engineers and technicians.

You’ll supervise staff, coordinate daily activities, and maintain strong client relationships, driving operational efficiency and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical and/or R&D facilities management experience is required.
• Experience in leadership, staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to staff; conduct evaluations and mentor the team.
• Coordinate daily activities, schedules, and cross-training; manage deadlines.

Whatyou’ll Do

• Provide formal supervision to employees. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Coordinate and develop the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
• Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors.
• Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
• Prepare and run large and high-profile capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
• Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
• Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
• Develop vendor relationships and coordinate invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
• Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
• Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
• Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job.

Whatyou’ll Need

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
• Must hold some Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical and/or R&D regulated industry facilities management experience.
• Experience in the areas of leadership, staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $150,000 to $160,000 annual base salary plus 15% target bonus based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
