Job summary

KLA is seeking a Sr. Facilities Engineer in Milpitas, CA to lead day-to-day operations of a production cleanroom, partner with engineers, coordinate tool installs, and ensure EH&S and SEMI standards are met. Strong experience in MEP systems and preventative maintenance is required.

Responsibilities include coordinating with EHS and contractors, planning infrastructure upgrades, troubleshooting, and supporting fab ramp-downs with onsite responses. Competitive package offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in facility engineering for a semiconductor fab.
  • Eight+ years of relevant experience, five+ years in semiconductor or cleanroom manufacturing.
  • Experience with cleanroom tool installation projects, including permitting, EH&S aspects, and forecasting/execution to timelines.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical delivery, power distribution, water purification (RO/EDI) and HVAC in cleanrooms.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards and cleanroom classifications.
  • Knowledge of building, fire, safety, and cleanroom codes and standards.
  • 6S approach to improving toolset performance.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing and SPC techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations and preventive maintenance for a production cleanroom.
  • Coordinate with chief engineer and stationary engineers; supervise third-party contractors.
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure compliance and audits.
  • Plan and coordinate tool installations and capacity-related infrastructure upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot MEP issues and monitor BMS to maximize uptime.
  • Support ramp-down of current fab and transfer of equipment to new fab.
  • Provide after-hours support including on-site emergency response.

The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.**Job Description/Preferred Qualifications*** Manages day-to-day facilities operations and preventative maintenance for a production cleanroom facility, includes active monitoring of cleanroom performance and scheduling/execution of preventative maintenance for all facility related equipment working within an IFM (Integrated Facilities Management) model* Work directly with the chief engineer and stationary engineers* Work with third party contractors for facility equipment support, hazardous waste disposal and incoming process gas suppliers* Collaborate with the EHS team to ensure the clean room facility complies with internal, as well as local/environmental safety standards, including annual regulatory audits, and appropriate quality assurance standards* Coordinate and manage tool installation in current facility for capacity needs* Troubleshooting MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) related issues* Monitors the BMS monitoring system to ensure that equipment operates within established limits and maximizes uptime for the production facility* Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance* Coordinate and assist as necessary in repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems* Supports EHS team to meet all safety and environmental standards* Support ramp down of current fab while transferring equipment to new fab* Provide after-hours support including onsite ERT responses* Initiate ECN, develop SOPs**Minimum Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent experience in facility engineering in a semiconductor fab* Minimum eight (8) yrs of relevant experience, with five (5) yrs of semiconductor or other cleanroom manufacturing experience required* Experience with cleanroom tool installation projects, including permitting, EH&S aspects, and forecasting and execution to timelines* Solid technical knowledge of chemical delivery, power distribution, water purification (RO,ID) and HVAC systems in cleanroom environments* Familiarity with SEMI standards and cleanroom classifications* Knowledge of building, fire, safety, and cleanroom standards and codes* Strong 6S approach to improving toolset performance* Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniquesBase Pay Range: $121,500.00 - $206,600.00 AnnuallyPrimary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLAKLA’s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed.
