Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of closely related professional experience in upstream crude oil and natural gas facilities.
• Experience in design, start-up, operation, and maintenance of process plants and production facilities.
• Capability in engineering budget development, execution and stewardship.
• Familiarity with Aspen HYSYS is a plus.

Arizola & Associates is recruiting for a Sr. Facilities Engineer for an oil & gas company in Downtown Houston.

The successful incumbent will serve as Senior Facilities Engineer for major expense and capital projects in the area of surface facilities engineering design and execution. Candidates for this position must have significant broad-based experience in the selection, design, fabrication, start-up, operation and maintenance of process plants and production facilities. Additionally, candidates for this position must have project engineering management level experience that includes responsibility for engineering budget development, execution and stewardship. This position requires working level knowledge of process and production facility system components and typical discipline-specific design deliverables. This position further requires working level knowledge of project scheduling techniques and tools as well as progress measurement systems. Project activities in which participation may be expected include design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, contractor/vendor bid evaluations, quality audits, progress assessments, engineering schedule development, and project readiness reviews. The Senior Facilities Engineer must be capable of performing technical work with limited technical and administrative supervision. This individual also must be capable of overseeing the work of less experienced personnel.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• At least 10 years of closely related professional experience of which: + At least 5 years of this experience must involve Upstream crude oil and natural gas production facilities such as wellheads and natural gas liquids (NGL) extraction and fractionation facilities
• Capable of verifying work is consistent with good design practices, realistic operating assumptions, and low lifecycle costs
• Capable of developing detailed equipment specifications included pre-commissioning, testing, and assessing vendor qualifications and quality programs
• Capable of developing procedures for testing, installation, commissioning, and startup
• Capable of developing requirements for operating, maintenance, and inspection procedures
• Familiarity with Aspen HYSYS is a plus
• Deep knowledge of rotating equipment and driver mechanics and able to effectively communicate with leading packagers
• Willing and able to travel as required
• Effective leadership skills, including ability to influence with no direct formal authority
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment
