Job summary

Magnolia Oil & Gas seeks a Facilities Engineer to design and upgrade multi-well production facilities and lead project execution with field construction teams. You will head multi-discipline teams to deliver concept options, framing, cost and schedule ranges, and risk assessments while driving cost control and safety.

This role requires broad engineering experience, ability to manage many projects, and collaboration with Production, HSER, Land, and Procurement to ensure compliant, reliable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or other related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • Intermediate experience with key industry codes and standards.
  • Experience in facilities, pipeline, and compression.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas measurement processes.
  • Experience directing Engineering and/or Construction Contractors.
  • Advanced understanding of the Project process and interactions required to execute a Project.
  • Ability to specify equipment and materials and evaluate alternatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate cohesive teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and continuous improvement of scope of work, design, cost estimating, procurement, and construction cost control for new or upgraded facilities.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineers, Operations, HSER, Land, and Procurement to develop and execute facility plans.
  • Drive facilities standardization across all assets.
  • Identify cost savings and reliability opportunities for standard builds.
  • Provide solutions to resolve day-to-day operational issues and support commissioning/start-up.
  • Provide leadership to Construction Foremen and field resources, including vendor coordination.
  • Develop projects that improve safety and operability of the facility.
  • Lead monitoring and reporting of progress and reconcile actual costs with forecasts.
  • Participate in risk assessments and incident investigations; direct Engineering Contractor oversight if required.

Job description

As a Facilities Engineer you will be expected to design new or upgraded multi-well production facilities and lead the implementation of those designs by providing project management to the field-based construction teams. Facilities Engineers in this role typically lead multi-discipline teams to provide development concept options/framing, cost and schedule ranges, and project risking.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the scope of the work, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimating, equipment selection, procurement, and construction cost control of new facility construction or existing facility upgrade projects.
  • Provide coordination with Production Engineers, Production Operations, HSER, Land, and Procurement to develop and execute facility infrastructure plans in a changing environment.
  • Drive facilities standardization across all Company assets.
  • Identify cost savings and reliability opportunities for standard facility builds.
  • Provide solutions and optimization support to operations to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Provide normal, shutdown, and emergency operations support.
  • Act as key interface to ensure regulatory and HSE compliance.
  • Provide leadership and strong advocacy for process and personal safety.
  • Support Project Teams and Operations in the commissioning and start-up of new/modified facilities.
  • Provide technical leadership to Construction Foremen and field construction resources, including support for prioritization, time management, vendor coordination, and consistent execution practices.
  • Develop projects that improve the safety and operability of the facility.
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of progress for facility projects.
  • Track and reconcile actual project costs and other KPIs with forecasts.
  • Lead and/or participate in Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations/Learning Teams.
  • If required, direct the sourcing and oversight of any Engineering Contractor utilized on the project as requested by the Project Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Experience in technical areas related to Facilities, Pipeline, Compression.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas measurement processes.
  • Experience directing Engineering and/or Construction Contractors.
  • Advanced understanding of the Project process and interactions required to execute a Project.
  • Ability to specify appropriate equipment and material as well as evaluate alternatives.
  • Inter-personal skills vital to coordinate cohesive teams.
