Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a proactive Events Support professional to travel across the United States and assist in delivering superior meeting, event, and experience outcomes. You will help pre-produce, set up, and break down assigned events, including loading and unloading a cargo van with DFA equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate event equipment needs with the Events and Experience team.
  • Source materials or needs for a specific event location (e.g., freezers, furniture).
  • Drive DFA's cargo van to events; unload, reload, and assist as needed.
  • Set up registration, printers, microphones, and electrical components.
  • Research event locations for proximity to retailers or service vendors.
  • Troubleshoot setup and events; align decisions with brand and staffing.
  • Collaborate with event and AV teams and contractors.
  • Support the AV production team and learn equipment specifications.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff, attendees and partners.
  • Assist onsite setup, break down, and related admin tasks.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory, including location and ownership.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize based on event objectives.
  • Interact professionally with cooperative executives.
  • Comply with corporate policies and maintain event signage inventories.

Job description

We are looking for a self-motivated individual, looking for a unique opportunity. The ideal candidate will be excited to work for Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), the largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative in the United States, traveling cross country to work at and support of meetings and events. We are searching for someone who is energetic, able to adapt quickly to diverse circumstances and above all, is a team player.

This role is critical to delivering superior meeting, event and experiences for DFA and all its stakeholders across the United States: farmer-owners, employees, customers, industry, strategic partners and vendors. This role represents Dairy Farmers of America in all its interactions, and it is key that the person who fills this role understands that their personal impact will go beyond simply completing tasks, but in how they work with all stakeholders will create positive ripples. This person will support pre-production and set up and break down of assigned events, including responsibility for loading, unloading and driving the cargo van that holds DFA’s audio visual and other event equipment as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Events and Experience team to coordinate event specific equipment needs, with understanding around what needs to be sent from DFA warehouse, what is onsite and what may need to be sourced at event location
  • Sourcerequired materials or needs for a particular event location, including but not limited to freezers, furniture, etc.
  • Drive DFA’s cargo van to event locations as needed; unload and reload truck, direct unload and reload while also participating in needs
  • Set up specific components of event needs, including but not limited to, registration needs, printers, microphone systems including power and other electrical requirements
  • Research event location to understand proximity to retailers or other service vendors to address event needs that may arise during event set up and execution
  • Troubleshoot during event preparation and during the event to ensure all event needs or setups are correct including making decisions that align to brand guidelines, billing and / or staffing
  • Collaborate with event and AV team and other contractors to support event needs
  • Support audio visual production team; learn key specifications and needs of equipment as specified or required by Director of Audio and Visual and Audio Visual Services Specialist
  • Keep and cultivate relationships with event team, support staff, event attendees and partners with professional and courteous demeanor
  • Assist onsite set up, build and break down of events
  • Support administrative tasks pertaining to assigned events such as printing needs
  • Maintain warehouse inventory, including its location, purpose, owner and needs
  • Manage multiple deadlines with each event and make decisions based on the needs and objectives of the event
  • Interact professionally with all levels of cooperative executives
  • Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, all corporate policies
  • Maintain an inventory of all meeting/event signage

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • 5 or more years of proven, relevant work experience
