Job summary

B in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs, and you will develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts, while coordinating with subcontractors to ensure coverage and successful execution.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil work.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong cost analysis and quantity takeoff skills.
• Familiarity with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We're looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
