Job summary

Talent With Heart seeks a Senior Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to support EPC and data center projects in the Houston area. You will develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical, piping, civil and structural scopes, using Trimble Accubid and Excel, and guide bid strategy.

The role is fully onsite in Channelview/Houston with minimal travel; requires 10+ years of industrial construction estimating experience and strong coordination with engineering and project management teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction, with a strong focus on mechanical/piping.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, OR 10 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong working knowledge of civil and structural construction methods and cost drivers.
• Advanced proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, civil drawings, and structural plans.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting EPC or design-build project delivery models, preferred.
• Minimal travel for pre-bid site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical construction scopes, with primary emphasis on piping and mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to validate assumptions and execution strategies.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring alignment with project scope and estimating standards.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, estimate reconciliations, and post-bid handoff meetings.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and productivity benchmarks.

About this Role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to join our team in Houston, TX to support a growing portfolio of large-scale construction projects, primarily within the rapidly expanding data center market. Additional projects span the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, and other heavy industrial sectors.

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for EPC and design-build projects. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial construction methods, material takeoffs, labor productivity, and cost controls.
