Job summary

Kforce's client, a growing nationwide semiconductor company, seeks a Senior Equipment Engineer - Thin Films/Magnetics in the Phoenix, AZ area. The role focuses on ownership of module processes, problem solving, and driving improvements across quality, cost, and productivity. Travel about 25% is expected to support technology transfer and partner alignment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent.
  • Exhibit good and open communication skills; Able to work within cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum sputtering systems or Ion Beam systems and/or multi-film stack.
  • Experience with Canon Anelva HC7100/NC7900 and Tellexia or Lexia-EX considered.
  • Experience with ion beam deposition processes and equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SPC/DOE and JMP is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Module process ownership: day-to-day operations, monitoring and troubleshooting, sustaining tools for tool availability.
  • Develop solutions using formal education, statistics, and problem-solving tools.
  • Drive improvements in quality, reliability, cost, yield, stability, productivity, and safety.

We are working directly with the hiring manager on this search assignment. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, profit sharing and stock/RSUs. Specific responsibilities will include:

Requirements
  • B.S. degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or equivalent work experience
  • Exhibit good and open communication skills; Able to work within cross-functional teams
  • Foundry Technology Transfer experience and Equipment experience is desired
  • Hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum sputtering systems or Ion Beam systems and/or multi-film stack
  • Experience working with ultra-high vacuum sputtering PVD processes and equipment such as Canon Anelva HC7100 and Canon NC7900 equipment is strongly desired (Experience with Tel lexia (Tokyo Electron) or Lexia-EX will also be considered)
  • Experience working with Ion beam deposition processes and equipment such as Nordiko Mnem-iX equipment Is a plus but not required
  • Working experience with Statistical process control SPC) and equipment Fault detection classification (FDC), Design of Experiments (DOE) principles and software (JMP) are plusses but not required
  • Experience with Thin Films related metrology equipment such as sheet resistance, x-ray diffraction (XRD), tunneling resistance, and magnetoresistance CIPTech measurements are nice to haves
  • Understanding of magnetic principles are a plus but not required
  • Process Engineering experience is a plus but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
