Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly/monthly plant inspections to verify regulatory compliance.
• Oversee groundwater testing and remedial actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Sr Environmental Engineer you will ensure the Refinery complies with the Environmental Protection Agency’s rules and regulations.

You can help achieve this goal by:

• Ensuring the handling and disposal of hazardous materials and solid waste are accomplished within Environmental Protection Agency’s rules and regulations.
• Ensuring refinery compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Air Quality Standards established by Environmental Protection Agency, and guidelines established by the Department of Transportation for training and shipping/handling products.
• Collecting samples of various products/waste in the Refinery as dictated by the various environmental programs.
• Completing reports for state and federal Regulatory Agencies and maintaining the appropriate documentation.
• Conducting weekly and monthly plant inspections to ensure compliance with all Regulatory Agencies, including tank seal inspections.
• Ensuring metal in the refinery is recycled.
• Enforcing all corrective actions and overseeing testing related to groundwater issues.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work on‑site, in‑person at the Valero Ardmore Refinery, required.
• Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering or a related Science, required.
• 5 years of Environmental Engineering or related refinery engineering experience, required.

Preferred Requirements

• Master’s or higher level degree in Engineering, preferred.
