Consumers Energy in Michigan seeks a Senior Environmental Analyst to conduct data-driven environmental analyses, develop policies, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves presenting findings to management, guiding junior staff, and supporting budget analyses across projects in the Jackson area.
Responsibilities include data collection per policy, regulatory reporting, spill response coordination, and collaborating with SMEs to interpret requirements.

This hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Jackson Service Center or one of the surrounding Service Centers. The role serves the Jackson area and the surrounding counties. The selected candidate must live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates).
The Senior Environmental Analyst conducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretating data, development of environmental related data and policies to assess current processes and develop recommendations to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Present analysis and recommendations to management and assist with implementation of selected process changes. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, compliance risks, budget analysis and reporting.
