Job Summary

The Engineering Technician is responsible for providing test lab technician services for internal and external customers in a capable, organized, timely, and safe manner. Responsibilities include modification of lab test stands and implemented design changes. Will be responsible for the safe setup, conducting of tests, completion of test reports and test data sheets. Candidate will assist in troubleshooting test setups, products, and systems. Good communication and coordination skills are required to work with multiple customers and schedule lab equipment efficiently. The individual must possess the knowledge and experience necessary to work with potentially dangerous equipment safely to prevent injury. Applicant will work with high voltage and high current equipment, along with electromechanical systems generating high force/load conditions.

Essential Job Functions

• Support Engineering team to design, assemble, troubleshoot, and repair electromechanical test systems and product designs.
• Provide technical support to engineers in design, prototyping, testing, and analysis.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and tests to gather data and evaluate product design or performance.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment for accurate results.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify trends and patterns.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation.
• Assist in constructing and assembling prototypes and models.
• Inspect and test products and equipment to meet quality standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report technical issues.
• Participate in and support safety programs; report injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, operate vehicles as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Competencies

Senior Engineering Technician: 8+ years' related experience or equivalent education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Aptitude for diagnosis, repair, fabrication, and assembly of automated equipment.
• Experience with PLCs, PIDs, and HMI programming.
• Basic understanding of Servo and Resolver Controls.
• Troubleshooting and drawing redlining skills.
• Basic programming in Visual Basic, C, and Python preferred.
• 2D and 3D CAD modeling experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows, email, internet, and SAP ERP.
• Effective communication with various personnel.
• Preferred: CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX), data analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB), National Instruments Labview, knowledge of aerospace testing standards.
• Valid driver's license, clean record, and navigation skills.
