Job summary

Apple is seeking an extraordinary Engineering Program Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects for Traffic at massive scale. You will coordinate with diverse teams to deliver high-availability load balancing, proxies, and traffic management systems across Apple Cloud Infrastructure.

The role requires a strong background in program management, Agile practices, and deep technical acumen with Envoy/Istio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development project management experience in Infrastructure domains, preferably Traffic or compute.

• Proven ability to prioritize features, build roadmaps, and deliver large-scale infra projects.

Cloud Infrastructure team, as part of the Apple Services Engineering team, is seeking an extraordinary engineering program manager (EPM) that can help our Traffic team deliver innovative product solutions that will shape the future of large scale infrastructure at Apple.We are building and supporting critical infrastructural systems and frameworks which provide and support services like load balancers, Traffic mesh, proxies for Apple Cloud Infrastructure, which is the platform upon which many iCloud and other backend systems at Apple are built.We're a fast paced organization with ambitious goals, a large user base, and the autonomy to build the future of Compute and Storage infrastructure for all of Apple. Key Responsibilities

You'll partner with a diverse set of teams across Apple to provide them with groundbreaking infrastructure for Traffic that operate at substantial scale and use open source technologies along with proprietary systems.

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years experience in software development project management in Infrastructure domains preferably Traffic, networking or computeUnderstanding of traffic management at scale at Layer 4 or 7 of the network OSI modelExperience managing projects with Layer-4 or Layer-7 traffic meshes (e.g., Envoy or Istio) and control plane technologyExperience managing Cloud and Infrastructure projects.Agile project experience with evidence and able to demonstrate knowledgeExperience at prioritizing features, and technical road mapsProficiency and experience in delivering large scale infrastructure projectsBA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional organizational, project management, and technical acumenPrior engineering, infrastructure experience a plusSCRUM background and/or played the role of a Scrum Master is plusSelf-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilitiesStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organizationAbility to manage multiple simultaneous end to end infrastructure, technical projects and stakeholder community comprising of various engineering teams and their partnersExperience at end to end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainabilityStrong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
