Senior Engineering Manager, Security Management Software

Location: Puerto Rico

This role blends cloud and on‑premise expertise to lead the Security Management Engineering organization from the Puerto Rico site.

Job Structure

This position is a hybrid role with an expectation to work an average of two days per week in an HPE office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing software engineering team, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Build and scale the engineering organization, including hiring and team development.
• Serve as the site leader for the Puerto Rico Security Management Engineering team.
• Create an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
• Provide matrix leadership to co‑located team members across multiple functions, aligning priorities and driving collaboration.
• Partner with geographically distributed teams to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience leading software engineering teams within a product development organization.
• Experience building cloud‑based products utilizing microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of cloud applications, platforms, and technologies.
• Proven success leading and influencing cross‑functional teams across multiple geographic regions.
• Demonstrated experience managing diverse, multicultural teams with an inclusive leadership style.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across a variety of audiences.
• Proficiency in English; additional local language proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity, networking security, or Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with shift‑left quality methodologies.
• Experience building software platforms designed for consumption by multiple applications and services.
• Familiarity with enterprise‑scale cloud‑native architectures and SaaS platforms.
