Job description

Iteris is seeking a Sr. Engineer Traffic Operations in Richmond, VA, with some remote work flexibility. The Engineer will be responsible for tasks related to traffic operations, researching emerging technology and new ITS designs, overseeing ATMS software development programs, managing all aspects of ITS, Signal, and Traffic Engineering projects from inception to completion, and conducting studies with recommendations on TSMO, Traffic Operations solutions, and strategies.

What you will be doing:

• The Specialist will handle traffic management, data analysis, effective communication, strategic planning, program support, research on best practices, developing guidance documents, managing multiple projects, producing design plans, conducting analysis and research, and supporting traffic operations, TSMO, ITS, and traffic engineering programs.
• Ideal candidate is strongly preferred to be located within the Richmond, VA metro area.

What you need to be successful in this role:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Traffic Management, TSMO, ITS, Traffic Engineering, or Transportation Design and Planning.
• Experience managing complex projects.
• An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is strongly preferred.
• Experience with software development for public sector clients.
• Experience developing Concept of Operations or following System Engineering processes.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to complex projects.
• Experience with operational analysis and data analytics.

Iteris anticipates paying between $108,500 and $120,800, depending on experience and skills.
