The Technical Lead (Salesforce) is a senior individual contributor responsible for technical execution quality and engineering enablement for Sonexus Salesforce solutions, with primary focus on ConnectSource and Marketing Cloud. This role provides deep technical leadership, Salesforce architecture awareness, and bridges engineering teams with business and delivery stakeholders by translating business intent into sound Salesforce designs and implementation decisions.

The Technical Lead owns technical standards, code/configuration quality, design integrity, and technical risk mitigation, partnering closely with Solution Owners, Product, and cross‑functional teams to ensure Salesforce solutions are built and operated reliably through disciplined SDLC practices.

The Technical Lead is in place to ensure how we build is consistent, secure, scalable, and reliable—reducing technical ambiguity, improving engineering execution, and minimizing rework and production risk through disciplined technical leadership and enablement.

Within Sonexus, Software Engineering plays a critical role in enabling Patient Access and Support Services through reliable technology platforms that support patient journeys, program operations, and client engagements.

Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Execution Quality
  • Own technical execution quality for Salesforce solution areas, including implementation approach and delivery of technical/config components to agreed standards
  • Lead design and code/configuration reviews (e.g., Apex, integrations, Flows, security model, data model) to ensure standards and best practices are met
  • Identify Salesforce platform risks early and propose options, tradeoffs, and mitigation plans in partnership with delivery leadership
Architecture Awareness & Technical Direction
  • Provide Salesforce architecture awareness (data model, permissioning, integration patterns, environment strategy) to ensure components fit end‑to‑end
  • Define and reinforce Salesforce standards/patterns to promote consistency and reuse
  • Create supporting technical documentation (design decisions, integration contracts, deployment notes) to guide critical decisions and continuity
SDLC Enablement & Engineering Discipline
  • Ensure Salesforce work is planned and executed with SDLC rigor (requirements → design → build/config → test → release), including change control and operational readiness expectations
  • Define tasks, milestones, and technical deliverables; independently determine technical methods (configuration vs custom code vs integration approach)
Run Stability, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with run/support teams to improve Salesforce stability through monitoring/telemetry, defect trend analysis, and root‑cause analysis
  • Drive technical debt remediation (org health, automation cleanup, integration hardening) to reduce incidents and rework
  • Provide technical guidance to managed service/external partners as applicable
Cross‑Functional Partnership & Influence
  • Translate technical concepts into clear language for non‑technical stakeholders
  • Partner with Solution Owners and Product on selecting appropriate Salesforce components aligned to standards while meeting requirements
  • Partner with shared service teams (Risk/Security) to ensure controls are implemented properly
  • Serve as escalation point for complex Salesforce technical issues, leading resolution paths that minimize business impact
Coaching & Technical Leadership
  • Mentor engineers/admins and raise Salesforce technical maturity through standards and review practices
  • Coach less experienced colleagues and lead complex technical initiatives with significant scope and long‑term impact
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 8+ years of hands‑on application development experience (custom and/or enterprise platforms) preferred
  • Strong Salesforce technical experience (configuration + integration + SDLC delivery)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and resolve production issues effectively
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and enterprise CRM integrations preferred
  • Experience with build/run operational practices, security controls, and regulated environments preferred
  • Experience producing reusable Salesforce patterns, standards, and technical roadmaps preferred
What is expected of you and others at this level
  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models
  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope
  • Projects may have significant and long‑term impact
  • Provides solutions which may set precedent
