Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Quality Assurance to join our Analytics & Metrology team at the Burnet facility. You will oversee materials characterization, analytical methods, and laboratory systems impacting customer acceptance and device performance.

You will lead the lab to implement process improvements that boost throughput, testing accuracy, and data stability while interfacing with production, quality, product management, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field (Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics) is required.
• 5+ years in analytical lab, quality engineering, or QA role.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent lab quality systems.
• Experience validating analytical methods and conducting investigations.
• Hands-on use of quality tools (Pareto, FMEA, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, DOE, 8D).

Responsibilities

• Ensure data integrity and compliance across analytical and electronic systems.
• Lead investigations of deviations, OOS/OOT, and contamination events.
• Drive continuous improvement in analytical robustness and quality culture.
• Improve testing stability using SPC and data analysis.
• Provide oversight of training, qualification, and competency.
• Review instrument qualification, calibration, and metrology practices.
• Approve change controls and risk assessments related to testing.
• Support audits by customers, ISO, and internal teams.
• Approve analytical method changes and validations.
• Own and improve laboratory quality systems (ISO 17025 / ISO 9001).
• Serve as lab SME on quality concepts and tools (8D, RCA, FMEA).
• Partner with Engineering/Production to foster quality and error-proofing.

Sr. Engineer, Quality Assurance

Entegris is currently seeking a Sr. Engineer, Quality Assurance to join our Analytics & Metrology team. This position will be based in our Burnet facility.

In this role you will provide quality oversight for materials characterization, analytical methods, and laboratory systems that directly impact customer acceptance, yield, and device performance. You will lead the lab department to implement process improvements that enhance lab throughput, testing accuracy, and data stability. Your role will be the interface between the laboratory and other Entegris departments, including production, quality, product management, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data integrity and compliance across analytical and electronic systems.
• Lead or support investigations of deviations, OOS/OOT, and contamination events.
• Drive continuous improvement in analytical robustness and quality culture, reducing variability, improving testing stability, and shortening testing cycle times.
• Improve analytical testing stability through the use of statistical process control.
• Provide oversight of training, analyst qualification, and competency.
• Review instrument qualification, calibration, and metrology practices.
• Approve change controls and risk assessments related to analytical testing.
• Support customer, ISO, and internal audits.
• Support the review and approval of analytical methods, validations, and method changes.
• Own, maintain, and improve laboratory quality systems (ISO 17025 / ISO 9001).
• Serve as a lab-focused SME on quality concepts, systems, and tools, providing training and expert guidance on tools such as 8D, RCA, FMEA, and related risk analysis methods.
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams to nurture a culture of quality through problem solving and error-proofing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an analytical lab, quality engineering, or QA role.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent lab quality systems.
• Experience with analytical method validation and investigations.
• Hands‑on experience with quality tools such as Pareto charts, FMEA, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Knowledge of proper controls for analytical instrumentation, SPC, stability, accuracy, variation, method uncertainty, GR&R, correlation, and matching.
• Strong documentation, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Familiarity with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
• A zero‑defect mindset, data‑driven approach, and passion for continuous improvement.
• Preferred: experience in the semiconductor materials supply chain; familiarity with trace/ultra‑trace analytical techniques (e.g., ICP‑MS, SIMS); experience supporting customer or regulatory audits; exposure to LIMS, CDS, or laboratory software validation.
