Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Engineer for the Power Electronics Test & Validation team in Wisconsin. You will own validation strategy for power electronics products, drive DVP&Rs from requirements through closure, and architect system-level test setups with HV/LV interfaces and comprehensive data acquisition.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of power electronics fundamentals (switching topologies, magnetics, gate drive, control loops, EMI/EMC).
• Demonstrated ownership of DVP&Rs and validation programs through production launch.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive verification and validation strategy for power electronics products from concept through production release.
• Author, own, and drive DVP&Rs: derive test cases from requirements, define criteria, negotiate scope and schedule, drive closure with evidence.
• Architect system-level test setups including HV/LV interfaces, load and mission profiles, thermal/environmental conditioning, fault insertion, and data acquisition strategy.
• Review schematics and define test cell layouts; specify equipment and lab capability build-out.
• Define and oversee test benches, instrumentation, harnessing, and DAQ; establish measurement accuracy and correlation requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis of failures; drive corrective action with design and supplier teams; lead R&D and improvements.
• Establish test methods, procedures, automation, data pipelines, and reporting across the team.
• Serve as validation interface to design, reliability, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers; present results in reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; review plans, data, and reports for rigor.
• Own HV lab safety standards, calibration strategy, and documentation quality.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Engineer for our Power Electronics Test & Validation team. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates

In this role you will own validation strategy and execution for assigned power electronics programs, authorand drive DVP&Rs from requirements through closure, and architect system-level test setups that scaleacross programs. You will work autonomously, set technical direction for test methodology, and mentorjunior engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive verification and validation strategy for power electronics products (on-board chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, and related high voltage assemblies) from concept through productionrelease.
• Author, own, and drive DVP&Rs: derive test cases from system and component requirements, define acceptance criteria and sample sizes, negotiate scope and schedule with design and program teams, and drive plans to closure with documented evidence.
• Architect system-level test setups and validation architectures, including HV/LV interfaces, load and mission profiles, thermal and environmental conditioning, fault-insertion, and end-to-end data acquisition strategy.
• Review electrical and mechanical schematics and define test cell layouts and requirements for instrumentation, low voltage, and high voltage circuitry; specify equipment and drive lab capability build-out.
• Define and oversee the design of test benches including jigs and fixtures, instrumentation, harnessing, and DAQ systems; establish measurement accuracy, uncertainty, and correlation requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex system-level failures, drive corrective action with design and supplier teams, and independently drive R&D and design-improvement activities.
• Establish test methods, procedures, and best practices; standardize automation, data pipelines, and reporting across the team.
• Serve as the validation technical interface to design, systems, reliability, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams; represent test results in design reviews and program gate reviews.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers and technicians; review test plans, setups, data, and reports for technical rigor.
• Own HV lab safety standards, equipment calibration strategy, and documentation quality for the validation area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Electronics, or arelated field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics development, test, and validation.
• Deep understanding of power electronics fundamentals (switching topologies, magnetics, gate drive,
• control loops, EMI/EMC behavior, thermal design).
• Demonstrated ownership of DVP&Rs and requirements-based validation programs through productionlaunch.
• Proven experience defining and standing up system-level test setups and lab capability from theground up.
• Extensive hands‑on expertise with lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads,oscilloscopes, current probes, power analyzers, hi-pot testers, thermal/environmental chambers, DAQsystems).
• Strong knowledge of automotive and industrial environmental reliability requirements (GMW, ISO, IECstandards) and their application to test plan development.
• Expert‑level high voltage safety knowledge and the ability to establish safe work practices for others.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to technical and executive audiences

Preferred

• Experience developing automated test systems and data analysis pipelines (Python, LabVIEW,MATLAB, or equivalent).
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD communication, diagnostics, and HIL or bench-level integration testing.
• Experience with reliability engineering methods (HALT/HASS, accelerated life testing, Weibull analysis,DFMEA linkage to DVP&R).
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional technical investigations

Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job‑related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$144,000—$198,000 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitivebenefits packageincluding medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a401(k) retirementplan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.Eligible employees may also participatein Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, aredeterminedbased on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results,in accordance withthe terms of the applicable plans.
