Job summary

Henkel, within Adhesive Technologies, seeks a candidate to lead laboratory functions, support new material development, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The role focuses on adhesives, sealants, and coatings, partnering with manufacturing and quality teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate has a chemistry or materials science background with 1+ year in R&D and strong knowledge of polymer science and adhesives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
• 1+ years of work experience in research and development.
• Knowledge of polymer science including structure–property relationships, rheology, and adhesive mechanics.
• Technical expertise in adhesive chemistries, composite materials, polymer network physics, and resin cure chemistry.
• Familiarity with product development processes such as stage-gate reviews and project initiation.
• Knowledge of MS Office, Labview, AutoCAD or similar drawing software.

Responsibilities

• Manages laboratory functions, including inventory tracking and purchasing of consumables.
• Identifies and develops new approaches, solutions, processes, products within agreed timeframes.
• Ensures compliance with SHE standards and manages the lab and innovation process.
• Provides technical support to Manufacturing and Quality as required.
• Executes process developments to support cross-functional teams for new technology products.
• Provides guidance on patents, trademarks and proprietary agreements.
• Approves technical readiness of raw materials and products and first production and quality specs.
• Tests or supervises tests on product stability and performance.
• This role is fully onsite.

What you’ll do

• Manages laboratory functions, including inventory tracking, purchasing of consumables, and raw material onboarding
• Identifies and develops new approaches, solutions, processes, products, methods within an agreed timeframe
• Ensures compliance with Henkel corporate SHE standards, policies and procedures and manages the lab and innovation process
• Provides technical support services to Manufacturing and Quality as required
• Executes process developments to support cross-functional teams to achieve completion of new technology products consistent with strategic objectives
• Provides guidance and recommendations on patents, trademarks and proprietary agreements
• Approves technical readiness of raw materials and products as well as first production and quality specs
• Tests or supervises tests on product stability and performance
• This role is fully onsite

What makes you a good fit

The salary range for this role is $80,000.00 and $100,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimum and maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at the time of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, education, training, and work location.
