Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise seeks a Senior Engineer for Fab 4 HVM SIC to drive inventory optimization and cycle-time improvements. You will align TD, HVM, Planning, and Engineering to ensure flawless factory execution and data-driven decisions.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 3+ years in semiconductor operations, and experience with SQL, Python, and BI tools. You’ll build dashboards and apply AI-enabled solutions to boost efficiency and predict risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • 3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, operations, planning, or factory management experience.
  • Strong understanding of fab process flow, MES, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-functional initiatives for wafer starts, inventory, cycle time, and output performance.
  • Develop and improve inventory control methodologies, processes, and metrics; recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement inventory, priority, and capacity strategies for NPI programs.
  • Foster coordination between TD, HVM, Supply Chain, Planning, and Engineering teams.
  • Identify and mitigate constraints, risks, and opportunities impacting factory performance.
  • Build data-driven reporting, dashboards, and decision-support tools.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.

As a Senior Engineer for Fab 4 HVM SIC, you will be the operational hub, driving alignment between Technology Development (TD), High Volume Manufacturing (HVM), Probe, Supply Chain, Planning, and Engineering organizations. This outstanding opportunity allows you to lead the charge in optimizing inventory and cycle time performance while ensuring flawless factory execution! Responsibilities:
  • Lead multi-functional initiatives for wafer starts, inventory, cycle time, and output performance to support business commitments
  • Develop and improve inventory control methodologies, business processes, and operational metrics and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop and implement inventory, priority, and capacity strategies for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
  • Foster coordination between Technology Development, High Volume Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, and Engineering teams to optimize inventory positions and factory flow
  • Identify and mitigate constraints, risks, and opportunities impacting factory performance
  • Build data-driven reporting, dashboards, and decision-support tools to improve transparency and execution
  • Leverage AI tools and automation technologies to increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance analytical capabilities
  • Globally represent Boise in worldwide inventory management forums and deploy best-known methods across the network
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, operations, planning, or factory management experience
  • Strong understanding of fab process flow, MES systems, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory management, and line management concepts
  • Proven ability solving complex operational problems in a dynamic manufacturing environment and analyze large data sets and convert insights into actionable recommendations
  • Experience using data visualization and analytical tools to support decision making (i.e SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Site Inventory Control (SIC), Capacity Planning, Industrial Engineering, Production Control, Factory Operations, or related areas
  • Experience developing automation solutions, scripts, dashboards, or digital tools to reduce manual effort and improve operational outcomes
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (Ex: Copilot, Claude) to improve efficiency and analysis
  • Proven track record leading multi-functional initiatives and driving balanced business improvements
  • Influencing without direct authority
