Role & responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems in water supply projects, including pumping stations, water treatment plants, and distribution systems. The role involves coordinating with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure smooth integration of all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and review electro-mechanical systems for water treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, motors, generators, SCADA systems, and control panels.
Conduct technical evaluations and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors for technical submissions and approvals.
Perform hydraulic and electrical load calculations.
Monitor site execution activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety regulations.
Prepare and review project documentation including drawings, BOQs, O&M manuals, and test reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site.
Assist in procurement and evaluation of electro-mechanical equipment.
Support the project manager in scheduling, reporting, and resource planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in water supply or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, VFDs, PLCs, generators, and SCADA systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and engineering software (e.g., ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent).
Familiarity with international and local codes (e.g., IEC, NFPA, AWWA).
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
