Role Overview:

The Senior Engineer of Electrical Project Engineering oversees the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects in development.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design of balance of plant packages during development.
  2. Provide engineering support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations.
  3. Ensure grid code compliance and interconnection requirements.
  4. Specify and evaluate major balance of plant electrical equipment.
  5. Conduct power system modeling and studies.
  6. Coordinate project engineering topics during construction.
  7. Manage third-party engineering consultants.
  8. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Incorporate health, safety, and environmental standards into designs.
  10. Support development of electrical engineering standards, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in transmission, substation, collection/distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection/control.
  • Preferred experience in renewable projects (wind turbines, solar PV, BESS storage).
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across diverse backgrounds.
Work Environment & Compensation:

This is an office-based role with travel to other locations. Salary ranges from $136,000 to $203,000 depending on experience and location. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
