Sr Engineer, Electrical Project Engineering

The Sr. Engineer, Electrical Project Engineering oversees the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects in development.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design of balance of plant packages during development
• Engineering project support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations
• Ensure grid code compliance and interconnection requirements
• Specification and evaluation of major balance of plant electrical equipment
• Perform power system modeling and studies
• Coordinate project engineering topics during construction
• Manage 3rd party engineering consultants
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts during the project lifecycle
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are incorporated into designs and standards
• Support the development of electrical engineering standards and processes

Job Requirements and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Advanced degrees may reduce experience requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering
• Experience in transmission design, substation design, collection and distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection and control
• Experience in renewable generation projects (wind, solar PV, BESS storage) preferred
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or in teams
• Motivated, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across diverse backgrounds
• Detail-oriented with sound business acumen

Work Environment:

This position is office-based with some travel to other RWECE offices and field locations. Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations.
